At the 2000 PGA championship at Valhalla there was a symbolic passing of the torch from Jack Nicklaus to Tiger Woods. Jack was well past his prime but nearly holed a wedge at the last to make the cut. An elegant changing of the guard.

Tiger’s reign is coming to an end in what may resemble a bloody military coup. The takeover is being led by Rory Mcilroy. With Tiger at only 39 years old we’d expect some great battles from arguably the greatest grinder of all time. Unfortunately in a cruel twist of fate, the facet of his game that made him possibly the greatest of all time, his short game, is what may potentially leave his game in shambles. Paul Azinger doesn’t mince words here. The chipping yips can be fatal, we hope he can somehow get his touch back and see him in the hunt at majors with Rory and all the other young guns he inspired to play the game to begin with.
